Europe seems like it has access to the gospel, right? But what if you lived in an area where you were told that your priest is the only person who can understand the Bible. Many people of Poland grow up in church tradition without encountering God’s Word for themselves. That leaves a secular culture of people who identify with a religion but not faith.
Perhaps you would fit well on a team of people using creative ways to reach Poles. They have a need for people who are certified to teach English as a second language, who are gifted in music and art, who love working with youth or are skilled in sports (like BMX and in-line skating, skateboarding, etc.).
Serve on a team with a long-term worker while reaching into two communities with less than 10 known Christians. Contact us to find out more.
Do you love children? Volunteer at a school that is teaching English to more than 100 Kindergarteners. Come alongside a local teacher as you assist in their classroom, learn Arabic, and develop relationships. After school is out, visit the homes of children from the school, and build relationships with entire families. Help to bring long-term change to impoverished communities through education, cultural exchange and humanitarian aid.
-Assist in teaching English to kindergarteners
-Timeframe – six months to one year (during the school year)
-Build relationships with local teachers and families in the community
-Share the Gospel through intentional relationships
Spend six months to two years working with and being mentored by a small team in East Africa that is working among an unreached people group in a rural, underdeveloped region. Participate in church planting through discipleship Bible studies, community work (focus on animal health – would be ideal for a vet student, but not at all essential), and language learning. This is an ideal short term opportunity for anyone seeking to discover if they are suited to rural life with fairly basic living conditions but amazing opportunities to share openly. This would be most fitting for a single female or a couple.
If you have a bachelor’s degree in English, communications, linguistics or TEFL with a TEFL certificate, there is a perfect opportunity waiting for you. A church planting team on an island in Southeast Asia needs a teacher with a heart for kids who would commit one to two years to help them with their English school. The potential for building relationships and ministry are amazing as you serve on this church-planting team, ministering to Muslims.
Is God leading you to help establish a holistic church planting ministry in a remote part of the world? But you know you need further preparation. Island Encounters on Fiji’s main island, Vita Levu, may be just the program for you. Spend six months of solid study, experiential ministry and community living in a stimulating setting.
Participants in the program are able to complete 12-15 hours of basic Bible and missions related course work with formal academic credit available through Moody Bible Institute. On-site courses include Spiritual Life and Community as well as Developing a Social Outreach Ministry. In each case there are hands-on opportunities to learn transferable technological skills that are widely applicable to many places in the developing world.
Island Encounters will enable participants to wrestle with the Biblical mandate to meet the needs of those in physical as well as spiritual poverty. They will be mentored in their journey by resident missionary staff and will participate in local church and outreach ministry. The ultimate goal of the program is that they will have a life-changing experience that will prepare them for service wherever God calls them in the future.

Just as it was in the days of Jesus there are those in this world who would do their best to disrupt, undermine and destroy the work of the Gospel. Pioneers must be careful about their online communications. In an increasingly connected world, it is easy to be exposed or hacked to the detriment of the Gospel. One Pioneers team is dedicated to stopping it. Headquartered in the UK, they establish IT security for both Pioneers church planters on the field and missionaries from other organizations.
This team seeks an individual to provide administrative, technical and business leadership to the IT team operating in the UK. This individual would work with the Chief Operating Officer of the Media Departmet to help ensure that the department is financially viable. This team also needs more team members with specialization in networking, programming, systems integration, security and the help-desk. This is a great opportunity that holds the ropes for so many Pioneers who are laboring for the sake of Christ. Apply here or contact Pioneers with any questions.
Beginning a new life in a foreign culture is daunting, but Pioneers has a solution—launch teams. Be mentored by a team of long-term church planters for up to two years while learning the language and culture. Take that one to two years to explore teams and areas where you can serve long-term.
The world continues to become more interconnected through the Internet and the media. Just as Roman roads helped deliver the gospel to Greece, Asia Minor and Europe, millions who would not be able to hear the gospel otherwise, have exposure to the Good News through this modern-day road. If you are tech savvy and have experience in this field, utilize the skills that the Lord developed in you. Come to the Middle East. A Pioneers team there desires more skilled laborers willing to minister in the Muslim world. They especially seek those who have web development and mobile app building experience. Learn to incorporate Bible stories into a secular English teaching program and gently introduce students to key concepts about God. Help them learn that they can study English using Bible stories. The team encourages students to learn more by coming to Bible class where praying, singing and discussing God’s word helps them understand the message of the gospel. Invite those students to attend the English-speaking or the Thai-speaking churches in the area. As students become Christians, they have a solid foundation for growing in their faith and forming their own small groups. Are you a night owl with a passion for university students?
