Consider a life-changing summer trip working among unreached peoples alongside Pioneers missionaries. The Edge is a 6 to 10 week summer mission trip that immerses young adults in a new culture and language and invites growth and understanding of God and what he is doing in the nations.
But don’t take our word for it. Read these testimonies from past Edgers:
Don’t think of it as a sacrifice on your part, or to impact people even. That will happen by itself as you follow Christ’s leading. Going on a trip like this will change the way you view global Christianity. It will soften your heart toward the lost and hurting…if you are willing.
My teammates and I went to a hipster coffee shop to write the Gospel on the chalk walls. It was an awesome heaven moment, realizing that God’s Word transcends language. It’s a very popular hangout. We aren’t sure how long it stayed up, but we pray God uses it for His glory.
My knowledge of who God is and my faith in His power to save has been stretched and grown as I see the way these people who have never heard the Gospel are so willing to respond. It’s as if this is what they have been waiting for, as if their hearts have been prepared for just this moment.
From the jungles of South America, to the bustling cities of Southeast Asia, or the deserts of North Africa and the Middle East—come be a part of God’s movement to reach the remaining 2.5 billion people who are physically and spiritually isolated from the Gospel.
Beginning a new life in a foreign culture is daunting, but Pioneers has a solution—launch teams. Be mentored by a team of long-term church planters for up to two years while learning the language and culture. Take that one to two years to explore teams and areas where you can serve long-term.
Spend 6 months to 2 years as a missions intern in Siberia while studying and living with Siberian, Russian and international students at a university where shamanist, Muslim and Buddhist worlds intersect. Learn from long-term missionaries and join their team, discipling students towards a relationship with Jesus through oral Bible storytelling. Learn from the experience of long-termers, the history of other missions movements, fellow students and interns and, most importantly, God. This Siberian internship is a great place to start your missional journey.
