Libyans
Libya is officially Sunni Muslim, but there is a growing secular presence in society. Seventy-five percent of the population is indigenous Arab, while 25 percent is expatriate. There is a strong church among the expatriate community, but evangelism is strictly prohibited. Three different secret police systems work to enforce this policy.
- Ask God to call Arab missionaries to Libya who could live, work and be a witness in this nation.
- Pray specifically for these workers to echo Paul: "My life is worth nothing unless I use it for doing the work assigned to me by the Lord Jesus – the work of telling others about God’s wonderful kindness and love (Acts 20:24 NLT)."
- Pray for Libyans to trust in Christ and know the freedom that comes in following Him.
