“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me…” ~Matthew 25:35-36

The purpose for this orphanage is to help orphans know God, understand His teachings, get a good education, and learn to read, write and speak Thai and English. It will also equip them to earn a good living and contribute to society. This will impact the children themselves, but the local church also sees this as an opportunity to transform a morally and economically undeveloped culture as they demonstrate the transformational love and power of Christ. God has opened the door for the orphanage on a piece of land with three buildings. However, until the local church receives funds to purchase the land and convert the structures into suitable living facilities, they will not be able to move forward with their burden to care for the children.

Church members have stepped out in faith to house a few orphans until the church is able to purchase the land and update the facilities. Since very little income is anticipated from the local participants and families due to economic difficulties in the region, this project depends on God’s provision through the generosity of outside sources. Another $26,467 is needed to purchase the land and facilities. Will you consider how you might partner with this local Thai body to care for those who need it most? You could help reach some of the least reached peoples of Southeast Asia for Christ.

Bigger Picture: “For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another” (Rom 12:4-5). It is incredible to grasp that the body of Christ is not bound by geographical location, culture, language, or even time. United by the Holy Spirit, those who are in Christ, whether near or far, are one body, with Christ as the head. What a privilege it is to actively join in the functioning of the body all over the world, to offer our resources to build up the Church and advance the Kingdom of Christ in places we may never see.
