Caucasus

Caucasus

Nestled between the Black and Caspian Seas is the mountainous Caucasus region of Russia. More than 6 million people, representing more than 50 linguistic and ethnic groups, live in the region. While known as a "gateway for travel and trade" over the centuries, the Caucasus’ rugged terrain has helped to preserve the ethnic identity and numerous languages of the region. The dominant religion of the Chechnya, Ingushetia, and Dagestan republics is Islam. Other regions are nominally Russian-Orthodox or secular.

  • Pray for missionaries and resources to reach the populations of the north Caucasus region of Russia.
  • Ask the Holy Spirit to prepare hearts and spur a church-planting movement in the region.
